Aquatic-Shifter

Aquatic-Shifters are a special race of Merdaemon found in the oceans of the Infernal. Their ability to morph their appearance allows them to take on various forms, including water-dragons, giant squids, megalodon sharks, giant sea-serpents, and more. This ability is not limited to one alternative form; Aquatic-Shifters often switch between them as their environment and activity demand; including a more humanoid terrain-form. When compared to their Merfolk neighbors, it is usually their aquatic shape-shifting that sets them apart. The majority of the time they prefer the alternate forms they have to offer, with the most favored being used the most frequently.

 Aquatic-Shifters are born into their realm  featuring daemon upper-bodies and fish-like tails. Their physical characteristics include horns, pointed ears, sharp teeth, claw-tipped webbed hands, and, in some cases, scaly wings. Protective film coats their eyes, while armor-like scales cover certain regions of the body in addition to the entire tail, excluding the fins. Skin, eye, hair and scale coloration is unique to each demonic entity, serving both as a distinctive feature and a form of defense. In their natural form, Aquatic-Shifters  appear quite predatorial and for good reason.

 A majority of Aquatic-Shifters can be found in the Mid-Ocean layers, but many also inhabit the Deep-Ocean layer. Deeper depths bring about increased risk and decreased visibility. When we summon Aquatic-Shifters it is usually from the Mid-Ocean, Lower Mid-Ocean, and Upper-Deep Ocean. Should your companion show you their true form you will note the predatory features such as their teeth, claws, eye film, and scales which act as defensive mechanisms.

 Aquatic-Shifters habitate in sub-aquatic colonies in which they collaborate to fulfill their individual duties to guarantee the well-being of the group. The close-knit nature of these societies is the key to their survival amidst the treacherous oceanic environment. Nevertheless, disputes between colonies regarding their territories and hunting grounds may emerge. While some Aquatic-Shifters choose to remain solitary, others are banned from their colony, inhabiting instead the Mid-Ocean level to keep out of harm's way.

Aquatic-Shifters have a profound connection to the water element, allowing them to work with you to dissolve emotional issues. Like water itself, Aquatic-Shifters can have a calming effect on the psyche. They are highly intuitive beings and can look deep within your mind. They can help you to confront emotional blockages and soothe you if it becomes tough to handle. They understand the ways of the human mind, how we bury things deep inside as a defense mechanism, but they also understand how taxing it is to do so. Aquatic Shifters know that burying emotional grievances is bound to cause subconscious emotional turmoil and spawning negative habits that do not serve you. Aquatic-Shifters desire to focus on uncovering these buried grievances and helping you face them, so you can let them go and heal. 

Additionally, These observant entities make wonderful protective companions. They are fierce and always keep a watchful eye. These qualities come naturally due to the environment they reside in. They are extremely protective over those they care about and show a great deal of compassion for their loved ones. As you build a deeper bond with your Aquatic-Shifter, you'll be able to share in the same level of protection and compassion as their colony members.

Daemons communicate primarily through telepathy but commonly employ the use of pendulums, tarot or oracles cards, emotions, and the sharing of mental images with their human companions.
